Should the iPad Have Had a distinct Operating System?

The Apple iPad has caused quite a bit of controversy over the last few weeks since the announcement. There is no doubt that the iPad for many people has caused quite a bit of discontentment compared to the dream of an Osx tablet computer. Should have Apple used a different operating system?

The selection of operating law for the iPad is basically the same that the iPhone uses. In terms of hardware the iPad can do more because it is a more fine machine, but in terms of usability and functionality, it's essentially the iPhone. While there is nothing wrong with the iPhone operating law in a phone, it's far lacking on the iPad when being compared as a netbook replacement device.

The biggest issue that the iPad faces is the lack of multitasking. It's hard to construe this expedient as a replacement of a netbook when it can't run many applications at once. Even the most basic netbooks from years past could have at least a word processor and a browser open at the same time which is beneficial for writers and students working on papers. Without multitasking, there is too much lacking.

Another issue with the operating law is that Apple has too much control over it. On a netbook, you don't have to get permission from the hardware vendor to install confident programs to the computer. With the iPad, Apple must approve all that is put on the machine. If a developer is not approved, then you do not have access to that application even if you want to use it on your machine.

A third danger that is there with this operating law is the ability to remotely delete applications. Many would feel vulnerable if a enterprise like Microsoft could at a whim delete whole applications from your desktop computer. The iPad is set up so that Apple has that power. It's too controlled for someone to feel confident to use this expedient as a replacement for a laptop or netbook.
